SplashData’s fifth annual “Worst Passwords List” shows people continue putting themselves at risk.
While the best passwords contain a complicated series of numbers and letters, most people still opt for simplicity. One of the most popular (and easily hackable) passwords, according to SplashData is qwerty (the first five letters that appear in the top row of keys on a standard keyboard). Old favourites “123456” and “password” also made SplashData’s list once again–and have appeared in the top 10 since the list’s inception in 2011.
