Television has ruled over the country for as far as its discovery in the early 20th century. Its content has seen a lot of change, but not necessarily the change that would suit the likes of the modern audience. So anything that gets redundant should be replaced, not essentially as a replacement but as a competitor came up the webisodes. These can either be a short story or a series of episodes, varying form 3 – 30 minutes, without any time limit. The webisodes are a depiction of reality with the emotions and point of view of the people.
The webisodes have been a growing craze among the youth and all the internet lovers. They never fail to entertain and are easily accessible through YouTube. Some of the webisodes that should be up on your ‘not-to-be-missed’ list:
Blush’s newest web series creates a cocktail of fashion and mystery making it the Indian version of the Kardashian lives. Aisha is first introduced as any girl with mindful of dreams and success which comes crashing down when she gets tangled in a narcotic mess and is deported back. Having lost her path toward the dream, she ends up in the bling world of fashion. It is a crime thriller like no other with the first ever girl detective adamant on finding solution.
The Girl In The City :
This is the first ever web series launched by Bindass channel. Meera migrates to the city of dreams to fulfil her ‘passion for fashion’ with six months in hand, given her father, an ex- military officer. A new life, job, city and new friendships along with hardships. The story of her journey in the span of 13 episodes with surely entertain the viewers.
I Don’t Watch TV :
A web series depicting the different chapters of a television actors life. Written by Ajay Singh and produced by Nakul Mehta, the series takes a hilarious dig at the lives of the actors off screen and their various relations in and outside the industry.
Trial by Error :
The events of one of the most mysterious cases in India is being re-constructed in a web series. The events have been scripted and narrated by journalist Nishitha Jha, with 8 episodes focussing on the different aspects of the case.
This webisode stars everybody’s favourite, Kanan Gill, suggesting that the viewers would already want to watch it. Though a teaser was released for the teaser, which is pretty confusing in itself, the teaser wasn’t of much help for the insight in to, uhh…The teaser. But Kanan being the man of the hour will definitely surprise his audience.
