In an unfortunate incident, an under-construction building in filmnagar, Hyderabad collapsed burying two labourers alive and injuring 12 others. The deceased were identified as Anshoor Shaik and Anand, aged between 28-35 when the pillars which were erected a few days back failed to stay firm.

The injured were rushed to Apollo hospital and the condition of a few are believed to be very critical. Search and rescue operations were chaotic as debris from collapsed sections hampered efforts. According to the attendance register maintained by the club security, 15 workers had reported for work on Sunday morning but the injured and the deceased accounted for 12. The remaining 3 are believed to be trapped under the debris.

The building is an extension of the Filmnagar Cultural Club. City police commission Mahender Reddy said the building had no permission and serious action will be taken against the builders who are at large now.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed grief over the death of the labourers and offered his condolences to the family of the deceased. He also directed the authorities to provide better treatment to the injured, a release from Chief Minister’s office said.
