Having stormed to power last year, Narendra Modi announced a slew of projects. However, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project has begun to take shape without much fanfare.
The highly ambitious project, aimed at creating a manufacturing and freight industrial corridor connecting Delhi and Mumbai, is expected to employ 100 million people, and is the largest infrastructure project ever undertaken in the history of the country.
Partnering with Japan on technology and know-how, the corridor is expected to have seaports, airports, and (hold your breath!) 24 new cities along its path.
The project is expected to be completed by 2017, and has piqued the interest of corporations and nations worldwide.
