The most awaited film that has its release in another week has been facing troubles in Karnataka. This is by a remark made by our Katappa gaaru 9 years ago. This all started amidst the Cauvery River row between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. He is said to have made anti-Kannada comments in the context of the Cauvery river water dispute and this video got to the surface and had a faced a lot of trouble.

Here is the video of Sathyaraj talking on the dispute.

And this definitely has got the film into trouble and this makes Rajamouli worry. He has come up to address this issue in public.

“Sathyaraj sir is not the producer or director of the film. He is one among the many artists who have worked in the film. If this movie doesn’t release as planned in Karnataka, he has nothing to lose. It’s unfair to target the film because of some comments he had made,” Rajamouli said in a video message.

He went on to add that people shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to watch the film due to Sathyaraj’s comments.

“I have already discussed the situation with Sathyaraj sir. I don’t have the authority or the energy to talk more on this issue. I request that our film doesn’t get dragged into this controversy,” he said.

As of Thursday, the protest against the release of “Baahubali 2” continues in the city. The groups have threatened to go on a state-wide bandh, if Sathyaraj doesn’t apologise, on the day of the release of the film.

President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and president of the Dr Rajkumar Fans Association, Sa Ra Govindu, said that Kannada Okkoota wants an unconditional apology from Sathyaraj if Baahubali 2 is to be screened in the state. “We don’t have any issue with Baahubali or Rajamouli. We respect him as he is a hardworking and creative person. We don’t want his clarification or apology. We want Sathyaraj’s apology. We won’t allow the release of the movie until he does so,” Govindu said.
