Rajasthan has long remained one of the most popular tourist spot in India, and it was just a matter of time before the state came up with an innovative marketing strategy, especially with stiff competition from other states like Kerala and Gujarat.
But when Rajasthan’s new ads came up, it got the entire internet raving about it. The campaign also got a new tagline – Jaane Kya Dikh Jaye!
The marketing makeover campaign was headed by the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather, who earlier came up award winning campaigns such as the Happydent ads that won awards in advertising awards all over the world.
The most amazing part of the campaign was the coining of terms like ‘Huansthan’ and ‘Mayasthan’, going with the tagline – Jaane Kya Dikh Jaye. The ad agency is also being applauded for introducing a brand new logo for Rajasthan tourism. The interesting logo contains two birds and camels. But when you zoom out and look at it from a distance, it resembles a typical Rajasthani man with the trademark Rajasthani moustache.
