The Bollywood films of 90’s portrayed careers like doctor, lawyer, policeman and super rich businessman owning palatial mansions. The films produced now have come of age. It doesn’t portray heroes only as doctors or lawyers, it has brought many new careers into the limelight. However, parents still want their children to become doctors or engineers. Hair styling has become a cool profession. It has become very trendy to become a hair stylist and open one’s own salon. Remember, Mandira Khan’s character essayed by Kajol who opened her own salon. This profession was also made popular by Kareena Kapoor Khan who played the quick witted hair stylist Riana Braganza in the film ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’. These films definitely left an indelible impression on the minds of the youth who are going abroad to pursue courses on hair styling and coming back to the country to start their own salon and line of products. There is a huge demand for hair stylists who has a passion for different hairstyles.
Many parents wouldn’t like their children to become radio jockeys but many children would love to become a RJ or DJ. What made them want this career path? Of course, watching films like ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ where Vidya Balan played the role of Janhavi a radio jockey who’s voice Munna Bhai loved to hear.
