Keeping fruits and vegetables fresh can be a challenge, because most people live a busy life and don’t have time to go grocery shopping every day, so they often buy fruits and vegetables in bulk and store them for future usage, however doing this increases the risk of these  fruits getting spoilt, after all fruits and vegetables have a limited amount of time for which they are fresh, they start to rot after that, but there are a few simple tricks that you can follow to make sure that your fruits and vegetables stay fresh for a longer time

  1. Keep potatoes, onions, and tomatoes in a cool, dry place, but not in the fridge. The cold will ruin its flavor.

  1. Store Salad greens and fresh herbs in bags filled with a little air and sealed tightly

 

  1. Avoid washing berries until right before you’re ready to eat them. Wetness encourages mold growth.

 

  1. If you notice any rotten produce, compost it immediately before it starts to spoil the rest of the produce.

  1. Grapes will stay fresh if kept in polyethylene bags

 

  1. Keep potatoes away from the sunlight as they will spoil if kept in sunlight

 

  1. Onions and potatoes should be kept in different places as they will spoil if kept together

  1. Certain Vegetables like Bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes should be stored at room temperature. Peppers lose their springy consistency if kept in the refrigerator, while cucumbers and tomatoes can turn slimy.
