Ever since this CA aspiring girl appeared opposite Rajnikanth in Chandramukhi, she has attracted plenty of eye balls. When she toned down to a more raunchy physique, the craze was such that the famous character of Bobby Simha in the movie Soodhu Kavvum, builds a temple for Nayantara in his village and gets kicked out of his home for doing so. She doesn’t care to be on top of the list, yet carries that magnetic charm attracting everyone equally. While if you think she was the routine heroine sorts doing all glam-doll roles, you are wrong! Take a look at the below characters of her which comprises a mix of all kinds. She has definitely made her mark in this field.
The character of Sasha shot her into a new limelight. Post Billa, Nayan was in the biggies league
YARADI NEE MOHINI
Remake of the Telugu movie Adavari Matalaku Arthale Verule. Nayan pulled of Trisha’s role with ease. Contrast to what people saw her in Billa, she showed a completely new Nayantara on the screen.
The movie that was remade into 4 languages had Nayantara doing the original in Malayalam for which she even received the Asianet Film Award for Best Actress in Malayalam.
In Simha, though she appeared for a brief moment, the impact she left was huge. The ethnic look she donned attracted everyone. Classy!!
Not everyone gets to portray mythological roles in these days movies. She got the opportunity and one can say that she simply nailed it. The role that even fetched her a Filmfare and a Nandi award for the Best Actress.
KRISHNAM VANDE JAGADGURUM
After a sabbatical of 11 months from acting, Nayantara chose to play a journalist in this one and she was truly convincing. Remember the goosebumps we got when she said ‘Amma tommidi nelalu mosthe puttam anukuntaaru kondaru, naana pakkalo padhi nimashalu sukhapadite puttantaaru kondaaru.’
Raja Rani was her first movie after her long break from acting in Tamil. It was a perfect comeback and she regained her status as a leading actress with just this one role of Regina.
While not comparing this one with Vidya Balan, the movie itself didn’t work as such. But, Nayantara was applauded big time for her role as Anamika.
Watch her out in her latest movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan opposite Vijay Sethupathi, where she plays deaf girl and has already received many applauds.
Wishing Nayantara many more happy returns. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
