When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. Widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, it is the most commercially successful adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s children’s fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written in the 1900s. However, by the late 20th century the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz had become more recognized than the book on which it was based.
