The plot was based on a murder investigation by which a family is threatened and Georegekutty, the protagonist of the film played by Mohanlal protects his family. Drishyam 2, released in 2021 seems as a perfect sequel to the first part. The whole story makes us wonder if Georgekutty and Rani, his wife will survive with their daughters till the end. Jimmy’s cousin Kevin (Fahadh Faasil) was asked to give a background check on Anu by snooping in her social life. When everything was going well, Anu suddenly disappeared. Theres a twist in the plot when 10 years later Sujatha returns with her husband to attend Sufi’s last rites. The message about religion being just an opinion is given subtly throughout the story.

This movie breaks the margin of a stereotypical Mollywood film, where the hero is the center character. Here the heroine is the main character inspiring the audience with her story. Pallavi Raveendran played by Parvathy aspires to become a pilot and is in a relationship with Govind (Asif Ali).
