This 2015 War-Drama film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, tells the story of a young boy, who becomes a child soldier as a civil war rages in his country. Based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala, the film was released on Netflix globally to great reception. The film is extremely raw and realistic and showcases in great detail the consequences and effects of war. The film shows all this through the eyes of a 12-year-old boy, who is forced into being a soldier after his family is torn apart. What follows next is a heart-wrenching story that will leave you astonished. Abraham Attah in his portrayal of a young boy delivers one of the best performances by a child actor that you’ll ever see.
