One Man, One Captain, MS Dhoni: All The Spectacular Trophies Won By MSD

Dhoni… Dhoni… Dhoni… There is nothing this man can’t achieve. He will get the T20 World Cups, Champions Trophies, World Cups, and the IPL trophies, you name it.

He is the only captain in the history of cricket to win all the ICC trophies – World Cup (2011), World T20 (2007) and Champions Trophy (2013)

Let’s take a look at all the spectacular trophies one by the one and only MSD

1. T20 World Cup in 2007

India won the first-ever men’s T20 World Cup, in 2007, defeating Pakistan in a nail-biter in the final. It marked the arrival of MS Dhoni the captain, and Indian cricket changed forever.

2. IPL in 2010

CSK reached the IPL final for the second time in 2010. They won the tournament after beating Mumbai Indians by 22 runs in the finals. This was the IPL trophy for MS Dhoni. He was also the first Indian captain to win an IPL trophy.





3. CLT20 in 2010

The 2010 Champions League Twenty20 was the second edition of the Champions League Twenty20. The Chennai Super Kings emerged as the winners of the tournament, defeating the Warriors in the final.

4. Asia Cup in 2010

What made this Asia Cup win more special was the fact that we won the title for the first time since 1995. After 15 years, India lifted the Asia Cup under the captaincy of Ms Dhoni.





5. World Cup in 2011

The greatest thing ever happened to Indian cricket and one of the greatest things ever happened to India and its people.

And Dhoni was the captain of the Indian cricket team which won the World Cup after 28 years and his innings of 91 was instrumental in clinching the win for his side.

6. IPL in 2011

In 2011, CSK became the first team to defend the title in successive seasons of the IPL. In the final, Chennai Super Kings faced Royal Challengers Bangalore again after Qualifier 1 and won the match by 58 runs to successfully defend their title.





7. Champions Trophy in 2013

India’s 3rd ICC title in seven years. With the win – Dhoni became the only captain to win all three ICC events.

8. CLT20 in 2014

The Chennai Super Kings won their 2nd CLT20 title after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders in the final





9. Asia Cup in 2016

This was India’s sixth Asia Cup. And second under Dhoni’s captaincy.

10. IPL in 2018

This IPL title was special as CSK was making its comeback after a two-year suspension. This was 3rd IPL title for MS Dhoni and CSK.





11. IPL in 2021

In the final, they beat Kolkata Knight Riders to win their fourth IPL title.

12. IPL in 2023

Captain Dhoni, playing in his 11th final, also equaled Rohit Sharma for the most titles as captain.
