When we speak of cooling foods and drinks, Butter Milk and Lassi have to top our list. They are made just for the summer heat and we cannot imagine our summers without these yoghurt-based drinks. So, here are some simple and easy ways to make Butter Milk and Lassi right at home. You do note even need any fancy ingredients or products for these.

1.Masala Butter Milk

Masala Butter Milk or Chaas is for all those who do not have sweet tooth. Tangy and a tinge of spiciness, this yoghurt-based drink is bursting with flavours.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Curd
  • 1 Green Chilly
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Mint Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • Ginger
  • Salt
  • Roasted Cumin Powder
  • Lemon Juice
  • Water
  • Ice Cubes (Optional)

Procedure:

1.Take a blender and add ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves and water. Blend it into a nice paste. Transfer this to a glass or a tumbler by straining the mixture.

2.Now, in a blender, take curd, water, salt, cumin powder and blend it well.

3.Transfer this mixture to glass or tumbler and add water, a dash of lemon juice and icecubes.

4.Your Masala Butter Milk is ready to be served chill.

2.Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi has to be the perfect drink for summers. It is like Trivikram Srinivas and comedy when it comes to summer coolers. That perfect!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Curd
  • Ripe Mangoes
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • Water

Procedure:

1.In a blender, add curd, ripe mangoes, sugar and water. Blend it well till it turns into a thick liquid.

2.Transfer it to a glass or tumbler and enjoy it by garnishing with tiny mango slices.

3.If you like your lassi chilled, add ice cubes while blending the ingredients.

3.Rose Lassi

If Mangoes are not what you prefer, or if you are looking for something simpler, then this Rose Lassi it has to be. They are classic and nothing can beat that, right?

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Curd
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Rose Syrup
  • Water

Procedure:

1.In a blender, take curd, rose syrup, water and sugar. Blend it well till the rose syrup is completely absorbed by the curd.

2.Transfer the lassi to a glass or a tumbler and enjoy it by garnishing it with dry fruits and a drizzle of rose syrup.

3.Additional step: If you like your lassi chilled, then add ice cubes while blending the ingredients.
