They are the most hated personalities in the entire Bollywood. People look at them with disgust, anguish and much hatred; at least when they are in theatres. I am talking about the ever-important catalyst, not just in Bollywood, but also in the entire film industry in the world. It is impossible for a movie lover to not know about Sholay, or its most iconic character Gabbar. The name, face, mannerisms etc. are all etched into the minds of viewers. The dialogues like, “kitne aadmi the?” and “Jo darr gaya, samjho marr gaya” still rings in our ears. He was a textbook villain and guide to all future villains who appeared in later movies.

Mogambo in Mr. India

Amrish Puri belongs to the most elite list of actors of Bollywood because of his effortless catering of emotions in his movies. His character Mogambo is the most liked irrespective of people. His one-liner is still very much popular. “Mogambo khush hua.” He gave a new attitude to Indian movie villains.

Dr. Dang in Karma

We all know that Anupam Kher is one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood. He is comfortable portraying any kind of characters. Everything will be safe with him. His portrayal of Dr. Dang has to be mentioned in this list just for the superlative performance. His character was different from all the other villains in Bollywood. The rest of our villains are not so intelligent or brilliant. They are rude and uncultured. Dr. Dang was a scientist who wanted to destroy the world with his inventions. Mad scientist, maybe. They are the usual villains of Hollywood movies.

Sonika Roy in Aitraaz

This movie was PCs ticket to stardom. She was able to grasp the attention of every movie lover through the character Sonika Roy. Aitraaz was a groundbreaking movie for Bollywood, as it dealt with the theme of harassment of men, something that the Indians werenot familiar. Priyanka was just superb as the CEO who tries to satiate her thirst through her employee. Yes, the movie had Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor playing important parts, but they were nothing compared to what Priyanka did onscreen.

Esha Diwan in Gupt

Kajol

Female villains are a rarity now, but when they are shown, man! What an acting it would be! It is always amazing when an actress whom we have seen as a lead protagonist portray the villain. It goes on to show their versatility. Kajol’s Esha was a psycho in the movie. We wouldn’t even guess she could be the villain. Actors like Kajol and Priyanka have always pushed their envelopes when it comes to acting. Ironically, both these actors got an award for their portrayal of villains on screen.

Kabir in Dhoom

John Abraham

John Abraham is and will always be known, for the character of Dhoom. It was one of the most powerful and charismatic of all villains ever performed in Bollywood. Kabir was the villain of modern times. He was intelligent and handsome. His suave style of robbing was new treat for the movie-goers.
