This film was able to apprehend the unrest of society in reaction to this inhumane case which was supposed to end with the victim denied of justice because of the rich background of the accused but, though justice was delayed it was imposed in its truest terms. This film won awards for best actress and supporting actress and many nominations in the Filmfare Award Ceremony and was a nationwide hit.
