9 Things That Shaped Telangana As A Role Model To Other States In India

It took more than 20+ years, thousands of lives from students to politicians, many protests, and a never-ending fight for a state in the history of India. The Telangana movement and Separate Telangana state is a dream before 2014 but it was possible only after Telangana people, from employees and students to politicians everyone fought for the state. There is doubt in everyone’s mind that what Telangana will achieve by being separated from Andhra Pradesh which has the majority of resources and growth factors.

However, with long-lasting protests, fights, and sacrifices of students and leaders, the KCR-led Pen-down movement brought a Telangana State in 2014, June 2nd. After becoming a separate state Telangana Government has begun ideal schemes, projects, and innovative changes in agriculture to the IT sector.

Today, Telangana State is a role model to other Indian states. Here are major achievements that Telangana State achieved in the last 10 years which helped the state to grow and set an example as a role model.

1. Mission Bhagiratha – Draught Free Telangana

Mission Bhagirtha is first of its kind engineering marvel in the history of India constructed to provide fresh water to every household in Telangana. Constructed with 42,000+ Crores, Mission Bhagirtaha today has 1.50 Lakhs KMs of Pipeline which provides free drinking water to 2.75+ Crore households in the state.

2. Kaleshwaram – World’s Largest Lift Irrigation Project

To use Godavari water for Telangana state irrigation and crop needs, The Telangana Govt has planned a mammoth lift irrigation project. Constructed with a 1.2 Lakh Crore budget, this project aims to gain 240 TMC water of which 169 has been allocated for irrigation, 30 TMC for Hyderabad municipal water, 16 TMC for miscellaneous industrial use, and 10 TMC for drinking water in nearby villages.




3. T-Hub – India’s First Incubator and Startup Ecosystem

In 2015, Government launched the T-HUB, which is the largest Incubator in India. T-Hub is a first-of-its-kind startup ecosystem in India with the aim to promote innovative startups in the state and country.

4. Telangana ranks as the 3rd highest GSDP state in India

The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate of Telangana is 9.5 percent in 2018-19, 8.2 percent in 2019-20, 2.4 percent in 2020-21, 19.1 percent in 2021-22 and 15.6 percent in 2022-23.




5. 24/7 Power supply in the entire state

Remember those days when Telangana people used to have 4hrs of power cuts in one day? But thanks to the Telangana government, which now provides 24/7 power supply without power cuts.

6. 2 BHK Houses For Homeless

Also, Telangana Govt is the first in the country to construct double-bedroom houses for the homeless, which is a really good initiative.

7. Major Achievements in the last 10 years

Highest Per Capita Income in India, 2nd highest rice producer, Blue Revolution with 50% fish production, White Revolution with 40% milk production, Pink Revolution with sheep and meat production increased by 3 times, Yellow Revolution with Palm Oil cultivation increased 7 times.




8. Game-changing Schemes Rythu Bandhu and Dalita Bandhu

4000 Rs per acre to farmer scheme, which won hearts all over the state and also gained a lot of attention across the nation.

After Rhythu Bandhu, Telangana Government’s Dalitha Bandhu also created a sensation and gained much attention for giving Rs 10 Lakh financial support for Dalits in the state.

9. Engineering Marvels – From Cable Bridge To Secretariat

In the last 10 years, Telangana state made headlines with their engineering marvel constructions from Kaleshwaram, Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, Secretariat, Ramanuja Statue, Dr. BR Ambedkar Statue as well as many restorations of old heritage sites like Banslalpet stepwell, etc.
