As the little and new born state of Telangana celebrates its second year of formation all across the state with great joy and spirit, it has added another feather to its cap. Yes! The tallest and largest flag in the country is now in this newly born state.
The flag was unfurled by the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao at the 92-acre Sanjeevaiah Park in Hyderabad to mark the Telangana formation day. It was manufactured by the Kolkata-based firm Skipper Ltd and the cost of the flagpole is estimated to be at Rs 1.3 crore. It has been made using high tensile hot-rolled sheets. It took eight 40-feet-long trailers to transport the flagpole from Kolkata to Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister said the flag will instill nationalism among the citizens and will be symbol of pride. Now Hyderabad will not only be known for the biryani but for the tallest and largest flag in India. The flag weighs over 65 kilos.
Many other cities like, Raipur, Ranchi, Faridabad, Delhi and Lucknow have hoisted gigantic Indian Flag in the past.
