Chinese food and especially Indo-Chinese food have been a part of our favourite cuisines for a while now. Each time, we go out, we cannot help but order ourselves a plate of delicious Manchuria or Hakka Noodles. And, since all of us are stuck at home, why not make the most of this and replicate our favourite dishes at home?
So, here’s a combo that everyone loves absolutely. Simple Corn fried rice along with Vegetarian Manchuria enough to satiate those crazy cravings, nai?

1.Corn Fried Rice

Made with corn, capsicum and sauces, this recipe does not need many ingredients. It is made with simple items which are easily available at home. And the best part is that it does not consume much time for prep and cooking. So, here is the recipe, go ahead and make it now.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Boiled Corn
  • Boiled Rice
  • 1 Onion
  • ½ Red Capsicums
  • ½ Yellow Capsicums
  • Spring Onions
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce

Procedure:

Heat some oil or clarified butter in a pan and add onions, red capsicums, yellow capsicums, spring onions and boiled corn. Once the vegetables are cooked, add already boiled rice and give it a nice mix.

Now you need to add spices and sauces. Add salt, sugar, vinegar, soya sauce and mix it well. (You can also add pepper powder and chilli sauce if you prefer some spice in your food.)

Garnish it with spring onions and serve it hot.

2.Vegetarian Manchuria

Made with several vegetables and even with meat, Manchuria tops our list of favourite starters. Soft on the inside and crunchy on outside and flavoured with a delicious sauce, Manchuria goes great with fried rice or noodles.

Ingredients:

For Manchuria Balls:

  • 1 cup Cabbage
  • ½ cup Carrot
  • ¼ cup Beans
  • ¼ cup Spring Onions
  • 2 tbsp Corn Flour
  • ¼ cup Maida
  • 1 tsp Pepper Powder
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • Water

For Sauce:

  • ¼ cup Onions
  • 1 Green Chilly
  • ¼ cup Spring Onions
  • 2 tsp Garlic
  • 2 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Sauce
  • 1 tsp Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp Soya Sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • 1 tsp Pepper Powder
  • ½ tsp Chinese Salt (Optional)
  • 1 tsp Corn Flour + 3 tsp Water

Procedure:

To make Vegetarian Manchuria, you first need to make the Manchurian balls. So, take cabbage, carrot, beans, spring onions, salt, pepper powder, corn flour and maida flour. Add some water to this and mix all these ingredients and knead the vegetables in a way that you get dough like mixture.

Now, take small portion of the mixture in your hands, press it and roll it nicely into a ball like structure. Repeat the same with the whole mixture.

Deep fry these balls in oil till they turn golden brown on all the sides.

Once your Manchurian balls are ready, you need to prepare your sauce. To make the sauce, take a pan and heat some oil. Add garlic, ginger, thinly chopped onions, green chillies and fry them.

When the onions are cooked, start adding your sauces; red chilly sauce, tomato sauce, soya sauce and vinegar. Once the sauces are nicely mixed add spring onions, salt and pepper powder. You can also add Chinese salt to enhance the flavour of your gravy.

Lastly, add a corn flour mixed with water to the gravy and mix it well. This is to make sure that your sauce or gravy turns thick. Add, Manchurian balls to this sauce. Give it a nice stir.

Your Vegetarian Manchuria is now ready.
