A National Memorial Of APJ Abdul Kalam To Come Up In Rameshwaram, Marking The First Death Anniversary Today


It was July 27, 2015 when the country’s most loved and one of the greatest man in the history of India breathed his last. Marking his one year death anniversary today, the Defence Ministry has planned to host a set of events.

This will include the foundation stone-laying for national memorial of Kalam, unveiling his life-size statue and a 3-D model of the memorial.

An exhibition named “Mission of Life” depicting the life of Kalam and his achievements towards nation building will also be inaugurated.

The Minister for Urban Development and Information & Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will unveil the statue and the memorial model, in the presence of a host of dignitaries.
