Displaying some remarkable skills in defence and aggression, PV Sindhu dominated the quarter final match beating the world no. 2 seed, Wang Yihan at the Rio Olympics 2016 with set scores 22-20 & 21-19. Returning the smashes with great defence, Sindhu snatched the match in a thriller from Wang Yihan, who happened to be the silver medalist at London Olympics, 2012

With this win, Sindhu has now become the only second Indian player to reach the semi-finals after Saina Nehwal reached the same stage last time at London Olympics, 2012. With Saina Nehwal shocking exit, Sindhu has kept the medal hopes for India still alive by entering into the semi-finals  along with Kidambi Srikanth, who is through to the men’s quarter final.

Good luck, Sindhu!! We wish you all the best!!
