1. The Kashmir Files – 13 May 2022 – ZEE5
The Kashmir Files is a heart wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle & trauma of Kashmiri Pandits, seen through the eyes of Krishna, the protagonist. The film questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.
2. Mishan Impossible – 29 April 2022 – Netflix
Three kids who want to make it big in life decide to nab Dawood Ibrahim and win the massive prize money announced for him. They set out on a mission to nab him but get embroiled in a child trafficking case which is being investigated by a journalist (Taapsee).
3. Gangubai Kathiawadi – 26 April 2022 – Netflix
Young Ganga is tricked by her boyfriend with the promise of a film career and persuaded to leave the countryside for Mumbai. In Mumbai her dreams of a film career come crashing down and she is lured to the underworld.
4. Saani Kaayidham – 6 May 2022 – Amazon Prime
The Arun Matheswaran directorial stars filmmaker Selvaraghavan & Keerthy Suresh in key roles. Looking by the trailer, this might be the most violent film of the year 2022.
5. Jhund – 6 May 2022 – ZEE5
Directed by Nagraj Manjule (Sairat fame), the biographical sports drama was based on the life of social worker Vijay Barse, a retired sports teacher who founded an NGO called Slum Soccer.
6. Puzhu – 13 May 2022 – SonyLIV
A gripping thriller with focus on the relationship between a father and son, and the underlying family dynamics and trust issues that follow.
