10-year-old Telangana Girl Rea Correa Becomes The Youngest To Ascend Mt.Everest..!!

Everyone has a talent or a skill that is unique to them, and it is this that sets them apart from the herd. While most of us take a while to realise our potential or passion, there are a few kids who know where their interest lies a tad bit early.

These child prodigies make everyone proud. And India has its own list of child prodigies that have made us proud in every field ranging from arts to science, math to computers, films to entrepreneurship. And this time, it is a ten-year-old girl from Telangana making us all proud.

Rea Correa a 10-year-old girl from Hyderabad, Telangana, is a student of Sancta Maria International School. While the other ten-year-olds that are busy preparing for their final exams, practicing multiplication tables, adding and subtracting, this small wonder was busy scaling the lengths and breadths of the Himalayas.

Daughter of Dexter Correa and Sonali Samant and a member of the Great Hyderabad Adventure Club GHAC she was recently part of the Everest Base Camp and she is the youngest kid from the state to have accomplished this task.

Scaling the 17,600 ft high took her 15 days time and she pulled off this feat along with her mother, which also makes them the first mother and daughter duo to pull off this challenge. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was this fete. It apparently took the mom and daughter duo around three months to train for the camp, yet the all the training at home was no match to the snowy mountainous terrain that they had to climb. But that did not deter them and play spoil sport.

Her achievements do not end here, she has always tried her hands with other adventure sports like Sky Diving, Para-Gliding/Sailing, Bungee Jumping, and Horse Riding. That’s giving many of us a serious life goal.

Wishing her more adventures ahead.
