This crazy challenge among Indian Cricketers has been trending in IPL 2017

The tenth instalment of Indian Premier League is going on big and better. After all, IPL is famous for pinch hitting, marvelous bowling feats and crazy winning moments, this season of IPL 2017 isn’t any different. With unpredictable performances from the teams to new emerging players, this season too is providing the pakka entertainment. But there is one trend that has been in the news. The #BreakTheBeard challenge.

IPL has always been in news for crazy appearances and acts of players. From Malinga and Gayle’s multi colored hair to Darren Sammy’s Baby dance, it’s always crazy. This time it’s our Indian Team Members’ turn. Because of the summer’s heat, they have taken up the “Break the Beard” challenge.

This began with the Sir of Indian team, the royal Rajput RavindraJadeja, who has put up a 15 second video a couple of weeks earlier on instagram showing his before and after look with StarBoy music in the background. After Jadeja unveiled the new facial hairstyle, the response the Team India’s fashionista fetched on social media was tremendous. He now sports a perfect handlebar moustache along with goatee which fits exquisitely on Jaddu’s square chin.

After him, it is the most popular domestic player in the IPL circuit, who is a regular now in Indian Team. None other than the flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has a stable season this year too had a new look. Pandya uploaded a video in which the stud disclosed his new look of The Zappa and a flawless chin beard. He even dedicated this to Jadeja and wrote, “Jaddu, this one’s for you. We got no dressing room confusions here now. #BreakTheBeard #MIGotStyle #newlook #KKRvGL #OneMoreSurpriseComing.”

Next to follow him is the ‘Hitman’Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians’ front man and been in form this season. He put up a similar video, and trimmed himself to a neat French beard. The Mumbaikar has close to 3 million fans on his Instagram account and is highly active on social media. He wrote, “Decided to finally have a summer style of my own. My time to #BreakTheBeard!”

More than all, the best surprise was from the ‘Good Boy’AjinkyaRahane! From a perfect full beard to ultra-classic look, Rahane is the latest to join the league. Just before his team’s match with Mumbai Indians, he put up a video revealing his swanky side. Inhis own #BreakTheBeard, he has come out sporting a clean classic ‘Soul Patch’, with the background music ‘I am a classic man’ running in the back. Rahane wrote, “Here’s the classic way to#BreakTheBeard! #newlook #classicman#myway@rohitsharma45 @royalnavghan @hardikpandya_official”, on his Instagram account and he did not miss out on tagging the other #BreakTheBeard cricketing pals. The new style renders Rahane a much younger look.

In all this craziness, there is one man who is stubborn in maintaining his beard look. None other than the new captain, the heartthrob of Indian team, the run machine ViratKohli. Though he and his team are going through a lean patch this season, he has maintained his humor quoting his fellow teammates. He replied by posting a snap on his Instagram account captioned as “Sorry boys @hardikpandya_official @royalnavghan @rohitsharma45 but iam not ready to break the beard yet. Great job on the makeovers though. Kudos.”Responding to Kohli’s message for his team mates, his actor girl friendAnushka Sharma told him ‘he cannot’.The cricketer could do nothing but follow the advice of his lady luck and said ‘okay’ with an emoticon.
