Ingredients:

For Potato Masala/Stuffing:

  • 3 Mashed Potatoes
  • 1 Onions
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

For Batter:

  • 1 cup Gram Flour
  • ¼ cup Rice Flour
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • Oil
  • Water

Procedure:

1.Firstly you need to prepare potato masala. So, boil 3 potatoes, peel off it skin, mash it nicely and keep it aside.

2.Then, in a pan, take mustard seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, ginger, curry leaves and temper it. Once they are tempered add onions, green chillies and start frying them.

3.At this step, you need to add your powder masalas like turmeric powder, salt, and red chillies powder. Once these masalas are nicely seeped into the onions, add the mashed potatoes and cook them together. When the potatoes are nicely mashed and cooked, add coriander leaves, lemon juice and cook for a minute.

4.Take the potato mixture in your hands and gently roll them into circular shaped balls.

5.Now, you need to make the batter. To make your batter for Aloo Bonda take rice flour, gram flour, salt, red chilli powder and mix it well. Slowly add water to this and mix it thoroughly. When you see a thick batter forming, add a pinch of baking soda, oil and mix it again.

6.Lastly, take a pan, heat some oil, roll the potato balls into the batter and gently release it in the oil and fry them until they turn golden brown on all the sides.

7.Serve your hot and juicy Aloo Bonda with sauce.
