Goa has to be one of our favourite places, right?
It is very high on everyone’s to-go-list. The beaches, the forts, and the vibe everything about Goa is just perfect. But what do we all love the most about Goa? The food, right? Goa’s cuisine is quite unique. From sea food to vegetarian they have everything for everyone. Goan Fish Curry or the Vindaloo have to be our favourite dishes.
While this year we cannot make a trip to Goa for summer, why not bring Goa to your roofs? This delicious Goan style Mutton Pulao will transport you to Goa. (Well, we hope literally too, sometime soon.)
So, here’s a small recipe that can be made with simple ingredients. Read to learn and make yourselves a scrummy bowl of Goan Pulao!
- 200 gms Mushroom
- ½ cup Green Peas
- ¼ cup Onions
- 2 Green Chillies
- ¼ cup Potatoes
- 1 Tomato
- ¼ cup Mint
- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- ½ cup Coconut Milk
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 Cinnamon
- 7 Cloves
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 Star Anise
- 3 Cardamoms
- 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
- Salt (As per taste)
1.In a cooker, add some ghee and oil. To this, add cloves, cinnamon, bayleaf, cardamom, star anise and sauté it.
2.When the masalas are cooked, add onions, green chillies, potatoes, ginger-garlic paste and green peas. Keep stirring it continuously as you add these vegetables. Once, they are cooked, add tomatoes, mint leaves and give it a nice mix.
3.As, the tomatoes get cooked, add mushrooms, salt and mix it well. Now, add soaked basmati rice and mix it together with the vegetables.
4.Lastly, add coconut milk to it and cook it for two whistles.
5.Garnish it will coriander leaves and serve it hot!
