Ingredients:

  • Fish

Marination:

  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • Salt (As per taste)

Masala Powder:

  • 2 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Jeera Seeds
  • 4 Cloves
  • ¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 2 inch Ginger
  • 4 Garlic Pods

Curry:

  • Oil
  • ½ cup Onions
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • Curry Leaves
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • Tamarind Water
  • Coriander Leaves

Marination:

To marinate the fish, add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt to the fish and mix it well. Allow it to rest for at least 20 minutes.

Masala Prep:

1.To prepare the masala powder, take a pan and dry roast coriander seeds, jeera seeds, cloves, fenugreek seeds, and grind it to a fine powder.

2.Also, grind ginger and garlic together to prepare ginger-garlic paste.

Procedure:

1.Take a hollow pan or a vessel and heat some oil. Add finely chopped onions, slit green chillies, curry leaves and fry them. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt and give it a nice mix.

2.Once the onions are fried, add the marinated fish pieces to it. Also add ginger-garlic paste and give it a nice mix. To this add a tamarind water concoction, made with 1/4th tamarind juice and 3/4th water. At this point check for the salt and red chilly powder and add if required.

3.Cook the curry covered for 10 minutes. Add the freshly ground masala powder and cook it again for 5 minutes covered. Finally give it a nice mix.

4.Garnish it with coriander leaves.

5.Your Fish Curry is ready. Serve it with hot rice!
