We all saw him puff away cigarette stylishly in Mani Ratnam’s Roja. Arvind Swamy, who made quite a splash as a chocolate faced hero in the 90’s switched back to founding a corporate entity and settling down as a CEO. However, there is no telling how things change. This is precisely the situation for Swamy, who is all set to re-enter the industry in style.
Arvind Swamy will be seen playing a super cop character in the next Prabhu Deva’s directorial, Bogan. The film is said to be of action genre and showcases both the leading men in a rather strong tone. The film stars Jayam Ravi, Arvind Swamy, Hansika Motwani and Akshara Gowda in the main leads. There has been quite some noise made by the film’s crew on the web portals and social media, revealing interesting working stills from the film. This will also be yet another successful pairing of Jayam Ravi and Hansika. Director Prabhu Deva is apparently leaving no stone not turned to make Bogan an out and out entertainer. The interesting twist to the film is that Akshara Gowda will also be playing a police officer role, along with the two men.
Another question has also been fleeting around – will this film mark a great comeback of sorts for the good looking expendable like Arvind Swamy? The yesteryear hero has made quite a commercial choice after a long gap, and we presume that his choices are completely dependent on the story line. Swamy is known to be choosy about scripts and Bogan seems to be a clear winner on his list.
The film is actively under production and is slated to see a slick popcorn release in December 2016. Music is being composed by the talented D Imman, while cinematography is being handled by Soundararajan.
