If you have got friends in Bombay or have researched the best desserts/brownies available in India you are sure to stumble upon Theobroma. Started in Bombay by Kainaz Messman Harchandrai, an alumna of The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Mumbai, and Oberoi Centre of Learning & Development (OCLD), Delhi, Kainaz was a pastry chef at the Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur before starting Theobroma in 2004.

Unnamed (25)In 2004, Kainaz along with her sister started on an adventure to open a pastry shop that serves high-quality food at a reasonable price. On this journey, they realized to adopt local produce into their kitchen instead of importing goods. This would lead to cost-cutting and holistic development of the community and local goods.

With their mind, set on building Theobroma, these Parsi sisters stumbled upon a lot of hurdles but never gave up. Few years forms then they have over ten branches across Mumbai-Delhi-NCR-Pune and now they are stepping into the southern region of India.

Launching their first-ever outlet in South India in Hyderabad and eventually expanding to Bengaluru in a few months or a year’s time. The first outlet is located in Jubilee Hills, Road No. 10, Apurupa BDR. This store is a 12-seater and a rather smaller cafe with their typical pastel blue-pink walls around with bright decor. They are planning to expand further in Hyderabad to Begumpet, Gachibowli. In case you are unable to head put to try put their brownies do checkout Swiggy/Zomato they come in a cute box with a wonderful doodle which is worth a mention.
