Today we are well good at online payments in India only due to demonetisation of currency and payment service companies like Paytm, BHIM, PhonePe, MobiKwik, Paypal, Freecharge and other payment services helped us in making payments via online on phones made easy at every store with our fastest fingers and today every citizen in India are aware of online payments and they are loved to pay via online payments instead of carrying money in pockets.
Google has its own payments services named Google Wallet launched in early 2011 helps to pay person-to-person instantly and at the stores online or offline too and another service named Android Pay which is launched in early 2015 helps to pay via Android app easily in real world payments and this Google Pay was rebranding by merging these two payment apps Google Wallet and Android Pay for not to confuse its customers with all these apps.
The company’s blog post hints the rebranding is just the first step, and that more news on its payment system will be revealed in the near future, most likely as part of its 2018 I/O developer conference. In the meantime, what do you think about the company mashing up Android Pay and Google Wallet into Google Pay? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
