Virat Kohli was 18 when his father Prem left him. He was 54 when he died. It was in the wee hours on December 19, 2006 that Kohli Senior succumbed to a heart attack.
Kohli was playing a Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka. He was batting on 40 overnight. Much to the surprise of his teammates, Kohli returned and scored 90 to save Delhi from a follow-on. Played a much needed innings and the major reason behind delhi’s victory, controlling higher emotions

SACHIN TENDULKAR
Sachin Tendulkar scored an emotional 140 not out against Kenya on May 23, 1999, in the World Cup. In the backdrop of his father’s demise, Tendulkar returned to the World Cup with India in trouble, and pumped life into the campaign with a remarkable century.
Sachin flew home this morning but we hope to get him back to play against Kenya on Sunday or, in the worst case, next Wednesday against Sri Lanka.

He went on to bowl 14 continuous overs before picking up the wicket of the well set Brian Lara. Kumble had suffered a broken jaw from a Merv Dillon delivery while he was batting., The match eventually ended in a draw. , but will be remembered in the history
