Kamal Haasan is a power house of talent and a multi-faceted personality at that. Known for his experimentation of roles, there is no stopping him when it comes to experimenting with his looks.

However, there have been some movies for which he really went that extra mile to look different and at times, unrecognizable. Here is a list of some of his looks which he literally immortalized on screen.

Avvai Shanmugi in Avvai Shanmugi

Avvai Shanmugi in Avvai Shanmugi

In this movie, Kamal Haasan donned the role of a middle aged Brahmin woman. The astounding make up completely transformed the actor and with perfect mannerisms in place, this look would be remembered by the audience for eons to come. The movie was remade in Hindi too.

George Bush in Dasavatharam

With this movie, Ulaganayagan made a place for himself in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the only actor to have played ten different roles in a movie. He actually donned ten diverse looks for the film including that of an old woman, a Sardar, a giant, an American killer etc. However, his George Bush look was the one which was highly applauded. With prosthetics and makeup, he actually looked like George Bush.

Appu in Apoorva Sahodarangal

This movie saw him in a double role, that of Appu and Raja. As Appu he played the role of a dwarf and actually convinced the audience with his amazing sense of experimentation. For a man of his height, playing the role of a dwarf would definitely not have been easy.

Senapathy in Indian

This is yet another movie in which Kamal Haasan played a double role – that of father and son. As Senapathy, the father, he played the role of a 70 year old man. He went to extreme lengths to get the perfect wrinkled look. He confesses to have spent close to four hours every day, sitting still just to get the makeup right and then another grueling two hours to get it off. However, with all the efforts that he took, this look would remain etched in the memory of his fans.

Nallasivam in Anbe Sivam

In this movie, Kamal played the role of a handicapped person, who is disfigured in an unfortunate accident. His comical timings and philosophical anecdotes along with his experimental appearance is what makes this an unforgettable look.

Vishwanath in Viswaroopam

Kamal Haasan plays the role of an undercover RAW agent in this action movie. But, what takes the cake is his appearance as a Kathak dance teacher. With his perfect dance moves, long hair and inimitable body language, he wowed the audience and created a look that would be remembered for a long time.

It is the element of surprise that each of his film holds, which is why his audience wait for his movies with bated breath. Let’s wait and see what other experimental looks Kamal Haasan comes up with.
