Quarantine can be quite tough. It is tough to sit at home all the time and do nothing at all. And, is the toughest for the kids. Schools, play grounds, theaters are shut and kids can get rather annoyed here. And, if you are searching for new hobbies to make the kids at your home away from boredom, you can try cooking.
Cooking is something that is fun and it is important to teach the kids at a young age, basic skills. So, here are three recipes, which do not need many ingredients. All you need is Maggie, bread, eggs and few vegetables. They are super fun recipes and your kids will sure enjoy making and eating them as well.

1.Maggi Manchuria

Who does not like Maggie? Especially the kids just love it. It is one of their favourite evening time snacks. So, why not make Manchuria with it? This recipe needs minimal ingredients and is super delicious. Here’s how you can make it easily at home.

Ingredients:

  • 3 packs Maggie
  • 2 tbsp Carrots
  • ½ cup Cabbage
  • ½ cup Bell Peppers
  • 2 tbsp Spring Onions
  • 2 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1 tbsp Maggie Masala
  • Dry Maggie
  • 3 cups Water
  • Salt (As per taste)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup Bell Peppers
  • 1 tbsp Spring Onions
  • 1 & ½ tsp Green Chillies
  • 1 cup Onions
  • 2 tsp Garlic
  • 2 tsp Ginger
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Soya Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Red Chilly Powder
  • ¼ tsp Pepper Powder
  • Corn Flour + Water mixture

Procedure:

Firstly, you need to make the Maggie balls. To do that, take three cups of water in a pan and add three Maggie noodle bars. Cook it till the water evaporates completely.

Then, to the cooked Maggie, add carrots, cabbage, bell peppers, salt, spring onions, corn flour, and Maggie masala. Mix these entire items well. Make round balls with this mixture and coat it with uncooked Maggie.

Take a pan, heat some oil and deep fry these balls, until they turn golden brown in colour.

Now, to make the sauce for Manchuria, take a pan and heat some oil. Add garlic, ginger, spring onions and sauté it well. To this, add chopped green chillies, onions, bell peppers and fry them. Then, add tomato sauce, soya sauce, red chilly powder, salt, pepper powder and cook till the sauces are mixed properly with the vegetables.

Lastly, add a mixture of corn flour and water and cook till the sauce thickens. Add the Manchurian Balls to it and cook till the sauce is mixed well with the balls.

2.Bread Omelette

Bread Omelette is a classic. It comes as a savior to our mid-night cravings. All you need for this recipe are some eggs and a few bread slices. This is the simplest things you can cook and if your kids are just starting to cook, then what better than this to begin with?

Ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • Bread Slices
  • 1 tsp Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Onions
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tsp Green Chillies
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 2 tbsp Butter

Procedure:

1.Firstly, beat the eggs in a bowl, add salt and whisk it well. To this, add chopped tomatoes, onions, coriander leaves, green chillies, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, red chilly powder and mix it well.

2.Now, take a frying pan, add some butter and fry the bread slices.

3.On the same pan, add some oil and pour the egg batter, and place a fried bread slice on top off it. Once the omelette is cooked cover the bread with the omelette on all the sides.

4.Your Bread Omelette is now ready. Serve it with ketchup.

3.Spicy Bread Omelette

If heat and spice is your thing, then here is a variant to the former Bread Omelette recipe. Some fried green chillies and chopped onions will add a distinct flavour to it. So, here’s the recipe to it.

Ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • Bread
  • Butter
  • 1 tsp Green Chillies
  • 1 cup Onions
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder

Procedure:

Take a pan, add 2 tbsp Butter, green chillies and onions. Saute them well.

In a bowl take eggs, and add this masala mixture, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, black pepper powder and chilly powder. Mix all the ingredients together.

Now, on a pan, add some butter and fry the bread slices. Then dip them into the egg batter and fry them on both the sides.

Your Spicy Egg Omelette is now ready to be served. Eat it hot!
