Truecaller, ShareIt, UC Browser and Xiaomi Mi Apps are Spyware, Advised to Uninstall by Indian Intelligence Agency.
This is not the first time that Chinese apps got caught by Indian security scanners for being a Spyware.
Indian Intelligence Agency (IIA) Advised Indian Army Personnel to uninstall few chinese apps from their Android or iOS devices immediately and make sure the devices should be restored.
National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) and Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) found 42 Apps including Truecaller, Shareit, UC Browser and Xiaomi Mi Store as Spyware where they are contained with malicious ware and they are all reported and blacklisted as Spyware.
Defence and Union Home ministry received reports from IIA, Indian Govt. Suggests to Indian Army and Citizens of India to uninstall all the 42 Apps from your smartphones for not to injected Spyware from Chinese links.
Truecaller is a Swedish app but it is also flagged as Chinese App, “ Truecaller team is working on it rigorously to remove flag from blacklisted Apps as they confirmed Truecaller is not a Chinese app, it is officially a Swedish app.
