1. Omkara – Othello
It starred Ajay Devgan as Omi Shukla (Othello), Kareena Kapoor as Dolly Mishra (Desdemona), Konkana Sen as Indu (Emilia), Saif Ali Khan as Langda Tyagi (Iago), Vivek Oberoi as Kesu Firrangi (Cassio), Naseeruddin Shah as Bhaisaab (Duke of Venice), and Bipasha Basu as Billo Chamanbahar (Bianca).
2. Maqbool – Macbeth
The movie had some of the biggest stars of Indian parallel cinema including Tabu as Nimmi (Lady Macbeth), Pankaj Kapoor as Abbaji (Duncan I of Scotland), Irfan Khan as Miya Maqbool(Machbeth), Naseeruddin Shah, and Om Puri.
3. Haider – Hamlet
Tabu as Ghazala Meer (Gertrude), Shahid Kapoor as Haider (Prince Hamlet), Sharaddha Kapoor as Arshia Lone (Ophelia) and Irfan Khan as Roohdarr (Ghost). This was the third film adapted that Bharadwaj adapted from Shakespeare’s plays.
