Sequels have always been considered a flop formula in Tollywood, 2022 broke this trend with many sequels becoming super hits. The misconception of sequels will succeed in Telugu cinema has come to an end,  and plenty of sequels are gearing up to entertain audiences in the upcoming years.

1. Karthikeya 2

With Karthikeya 2, Chandoo Mondeti and Nikhil Siddartha have delivered a pan-India blockbuster. Karthikeya 2 was a bigger hit than its predecessor Karthikeya.  Particularly the film has won the hearts of the North audiences without any promotions.




2. KGF Chapter 2

The biggest hit of 2022. The highest-grossing Kannada movie. The highest-grossing Indian cinema of 2022, all this belongs to a sequel, titled KGF Chapter 2. Rocky Bhai once again blasted the Indian box office.

3. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Only two Bollywood heroes have tasted success in the year 2022 and one of them is Kartik Aaryan. He replaced Akshay Kumar in the sequel of Bhool Bhulaiayya, and the sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 became a super hit at the box office.







4. HIT: The Second Case

And the Hit franchise keeps going strong. With Adivi Sesh in the lead role, HIT: The Second Case has become a box office winner. Although The second case is not as strong as the first case, it’s a decent outing and an engaging film.

5. Bangarraju

Following his 2016 super hit Soggade Chinni Nayana, the Sequel Bangarraju became a major hit at the box office. The father & son duo won the Sankranthi race with this sequel.




6. Drishyam 2

Bollywood facing a huge slump at the box office. Ajay Devgn came to the Bollywood rescue with his Drishyam 2, the film has garnered fantastic positive word of mouth and it collected more than 300 cr.
