Though not all of the royal families are leading the royal life, there are 7 such royal families that are still living the royal life in modern India.
The Royal Family of Rajkot

He has already invested 100 Crores in Bio-fuel development and hydropower plants. His latest venture is Royal Eatery, a food & beverage business. Started in early 2008, Jadeja has tied up with US Pizza to set up 20 outlets across Gujarat, mostly in Saurashtra. He has also acquired wastelands in MP and Gujrat with an intention to invest nearly Rs 30-50 crore to extract oil from biodiesel.
The Mewar Dynasty
Rana Sriji Arvind Singh Mewaris the 76th custodian of the House of Mewar. The Maharanas of Udaipur are considered not rulers but custodians of the kingdom on behalf of Sri Eklingji(Lord Shiva). Apart from that, he is an Indian businessman and chairman of HRH Group of Hotels. The family owns a number over hotels all across Rajasthan with a collective staff off over 1200 people. They also own a number of resorts and charitable institutions.

Daughter of His Highness Dr. Karni Singh, Maharaja of Bikaner and Maharani Sushila Kumari, granddaughter of Maharaja SadulSinghji and great granddaughter of Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner.Rajyashree Kumari of Bikaner is the current heir of the royal family. She is a former shooter who has won the Arjuna Award. She currentlyis the Chairperson of The Maharaja Ganga Singhji Trust and the owner of the Lalgarh Palace. Rajyashree runs many charitable trusts and resides in Bikaner.
The Wadiyar Dynasty
The head of this dynasty is YaduveerKrishnadattaChamarajaWadiya, he is he twenty-seventh head or “custodian” of the erstwhile ruling family of the Kingdom of Mysore and head of the Wadiyar dynasty. The family has properties and assets which are worth up to 10 thousand crores.
The Royal Family of Jodhpur
Head of the house of Jodhpur, Gaj Singh owns world’s largest private residence, The Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur along with a few other forts and palaces. Some part of the Umaid Bhawan has been turned into a hotel and is being managed by the Taj Groups as a heritage hotel.
The Royal Family of Alsisar
The Raja of Khetri, Abhimanyu Singh is the current head of the 16thcion of the royalty of Alsisar in Jaipur. He owns a haveli in Jaipur and in Ranthambore each. Apart from that, he is the co-sponsor of an annual EDM festival called Magnetic Fields. Now that’s a prince cool.
The Gaekwads of Baroda
Samarjitsinh Gaekwad recently inherited property which is worth over Rs 20 thousand crores after being crowned as the Gaekwad of Baroda. The property includes 600 acres of the magnificent 187-room Laxmi Vilas Palace out of the 2000-acre land which is used for residential, commercial and industrial real estate purposes.
