Butter Chicken Masala is one of our favourite dishes to order in a restaurant or a dhaba. It is cooked with aromatic spices, herbs and the gravy is cooked with lots of butter and cream. And if you think, that cooking this delicious dish take a lot of time and ingredients, then no. Here’s a super simple Butter Chicken recipe made with minimal ingredients and in dhaba style!
Ingredients:
- 250 gms Chicken
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- Butter
- Cream
- Oil
- Ginger-garlic paste
- Lemon Juice
- Salt (As per taste)
- Red Chilli Powder
- Garam Masala
- Turmeric Powder
- Kasuri Methi
Procedure:
1.Firstly you need to marinate the chicken. To marinate the chicken, take 250 grams of chicken and add 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, salt, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp kasuri methi and a tsp of oil. Mix all the ingredients well and let the chicken rest for atleast an hour.
2.Take a pan and heat some oil. Add one cup onions, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and fry it till the onions turn into golden-brown colour. Now, add one tomato and 30 grams cashew nuts and cook them together.
3.To this, add a tsp of red chilli powder, some water and cook the tomatoes. Once they are cooked, grind the tomatoes and onions to a fine paste.
4.Again, take a pan, add some oil and fry the chicken on a low flame for 5 minutes. Add the tomato and onion paste to this and cook covered on a low flame for 5 minutes.
5.Add 2 tsp butter, 1 tsp Kasuri Methi to the gravy and give it a nice mix. Finally add some cream and cook it covered for 5 minutes on low flame.
6.Your creamy Butter Chicken is now ready. Serve it hot with roti or naan!
