Comforting, easy to make, Sambar rice is one of our favourite foods.
Sambar rice, is simply nothing but rice cooked with dal and vegetables of your choice. It is an ideal recipe when you are feeling lazy. Also, it is a lot similar to Karnataka’s iconic Bisi Belle Bath. The difference between the two recipes is the way you make the masala powder. In traditional Sambar Annam, you grind the masala powders on spot or simple sambar powder and add it to the dish whereas, in Bisi Belle Bath, you add special Bisi Belle bath masala powder.
