2015 – On one side we saw great blockbusters that took Telugu cinema to international horizons. And on the other side we lost some of the greatest legends in Telugu cinema who gave substantial shape to the regional cinema on the national front. A popular character actor died of cancer at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad.
GANESH PATRO
Date of Death: January 5, 2015
A veteran script writer, wrote for legendary movies like Maro Charitra, Aakali Rajyam and the latest Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chetu. He died of cancer in a Chennai hospital.
V B RAJENDRA PRASAD
Date of Death: January 12, 2015
Jagapathy Babu’s father and one of the leading producer in Telugu cinema, V B Rajendra Prasad’s death was a natural one.
M S NARAYANA
Date of Death: January 23, 2015
One of our leading comedians who acted in over 750 films, MS died due to multi-organ failure.
Dr. D RAMANAIDU
Date of Death: February 18, 2015
Famously known as the Movie Moghul, Ramanaidu’s death was a major loss to the Telugu Film Industry.
AARTHI AGARWAL
Date of Death: June 6, 2015
The cons of liposuction surgery hit her deteriorating her health to very bad condition. She died of a sudden cardiac arrest while she was undergoing treatment.

Date of Death: October 4, 2015
As a producer, he was known for his path breaking movies. He produced 10 movies and 9 of them changed Telugu cinema.
MANORAMA

Known as aachi in Tamil cinema, Manorama was a well known actor in Telugu cinema too. She dies due to multi-organ failure.
‘KALLU’ CHIDAMBARAM

Winning a Nandi for his debut performance in the movie Kallu, Kolluri Chidambara Rao has acted in over 300 movies.
MADA VENKATESWAR RAO
Date of Death: October 24, 2015
Known famously for his eunuch roles, Mada Venkateshwar Rao breathed his last i Hyderabad.
KONDAVALASA LAKSHMANA RAO
Date of Death: November 2, 2015
Being ill for more than a year, Kondavalasa gave up in a private hospital in Hyderabad.
RANGANATH
Date of Death: December 19, 2015
Shocking everyone with his suicide, Ranganath wrote ‘Destiny’ on his wall and hanged himself. A veteran actor is also famous for his writings.
POTTI RAMBABU
Date of Death: December 29, 2015
Another comedian’s death has only increased the loss to Telugu cinema. Potti Rambabu who shot to fame as Prabhas’s friend in the Eshwar acted in over 40 films.
