5 teams we would like to see as a replacement for CSK and RR

Indian Premier League has seen eight successful tournaments spanning eight long years. Chennai Super Kings have been the most successful team, winning the title twice – once in 2010 and consecutively in 2011. Rajasthan Royals were the winners of the first season in 2008. Both these teams are in deep trouble because of the wrong doings of their owners, and have been suspended from playing in IPL for the next two editions.

In light of these suspensions, there is a vacancy for two teams in IPL season 10. If we had our way, here are the teams we would like to see play in the next tournament:

1. AMDAVADI ANGAARE:

The Gujratis are famous for their dhokla, khakhra, khandwa and also their competitive spirit. Many players have made it to the national team from this city. A few IPL matches were hosted in the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad, and were sold out. It is only fitting that this city of Gandhi’s birth gets its very own IPL franchise. Let’s hope they don’t indulge in any corruption. May be Gandhi’s picture on our currency would be a reminder for them!

2. SIZZLING SURAT:

Surat is famous for its cloth market, and its hospitality. If there has to be any replacement for Chennai Super Kings – team to have won a lot of Fair Play awards in IPL – then it has to be the most welcoming city in India – Surat!
You can also expect some colourful attires for the team from Surat. After all they have a huge reputation for colourful attire to live up to!

3. LUCKNOWI NAWAABS

The city that gave us Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi deserves to be one of the franchises in the tenth season of the Indian Premier League. This small town loves its food, shayari, and is equally enthusiastic about cricket. Lucknowi Nawabs will have the finesse of cricket as well as the style of the Nawabs.

4. BHOPAL KE BLASTERS:

Bhopal is called the City of Lakes for the numerous lakes that illuminate the city. But the people of this small town are very enthusiastic about cricket. There are quite a few international Stadiums in the city and that could be one reason to have the city as a franchise. IPL will make it a necessity to build world class stadiums and please the cricket fans of the city.

5. RANCHI RANGERS:

Ranchi is home to temples, hills and waterfalls. It is also home to captain M.S. Dhoni. He has become a major reason for the many citizens of the city to take more interest in cricket and become avid followers of the game. He has also inspired a lot of youngsters to take the game of cricket seriously. Hence, it is only fitting to have a new franchise from Ranchi to replace the suspended Chennai Super Kings team. And who else to lead that team than the man himself – M.S. Dhoni!
