In a shocking and bizarre statement union Health Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Sunday said that Cow urine can cure cancer and they would work out a plan to declare cow urine as a medicine, he added to his statement that former Prime Minister Morarji Desai used to consume cow urine for medicinal purpose.
”Cow urine is powerful on its own. It is considered unique and it has a quality to treat various health issues. The Ayush Ministry is also working on using cow urine for the preparation of medicines and for the treatment of cancer. Discussions and efforts are on how to take medicines for cancer,” Choubey said.
He now wants medical research on cow urine, “We see that many times, people drink urine to cure their disease. Our former Prime Minister Morarji Desai Ji himself used to drink cow’s urine. There is a need to do research on cow urine.” Said Choubey
“The Prime Minister had declared that the country wanted to become free of non-communicable disease by 2030 and the health ministry would work towards achieving the target”
Choubey spoke about the concern of rising diseases in the world “Non-communicable diseases like diabetes and cancer are a challenge all over the world. We cannot claim to eliminate the diseases completely but we can control it and for it, the government of India has set a deadline 2030 under sustainable development goal,” said Choubey.
Over the years, many BJP leaders have spoken about the importance of cow urine or as they like to call it ‘Gomutra’. “I was a patient of cancer, and I cured myself by consuming cow urine coupled with ayurvedic herbs,” said Pragya Thakur. Just last month Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat made headlines by claiming at a function in Dehradun that the cow is the only animal capable of exhaling oxygen. Many Experts called him out for his theory by pointing out that all creatures including humans exhale oxygen in small proportions while breathing. He also made another saying that living in proximity to cows can cure tuberculosis.
There has been a lot of backlash regarding these statements and people continue to question these leaders, only time will tell what action the government will take on this subject and whether thorough research will be done on cow urine.
