After giving us films like Bombay, Saathiya, Yuva and the recent Ok Kanmani (which is being remade into Ok Jaanu in Bollywood), Mani Ratnam is all set to start work on his next film. The director has signed Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari for his next Tamil film titled Kuruthi Pookkal.
Aditi Rao Hydari who is known for films like London Paris New York, Murder 3 and the recent Wazirwill be seen in the role of a doctor and will be paired opposite actor Karthi in this action-romantic film. While she has previously worked in a couple of South films, this is the first time where she will be working with Karthi and Mani Ratnam. The said film will have Karthi playing the role of an ace pilot.
The untitled project is to have actor Karthi playing an NRI pilot who falls for the character Sai Pallavi was rumoured to play.
The film is simultaneously said to be made in Telugu, Malayalam.
Produced under Mani’s home banner Madras Talkies, the music of the film is composed by maverick A R Rahman and cinematography is done by Ravi Varma. The film is said to go on floor in August or September with an estimated Summer release of 2017. Sure is something to look forward.
