Kolkata Knight Riders registered an easy win over Kings XI Punjab by chasing down the 139-run target in Mohali. KKR openers Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir laid the platform for the run chase with a 82-run stand.
An Unchanged squad of KKR opted to bowl first against KXIPÂ at Mohali.
Things which haven’t gone all too well for KXIP thus far, remained to be so even in this outing. After being put in to bat, Vohra was accounted for by Morne Morkel. However Murali Vijay and Shaun Marsh steadied the ship later on, however the lack of big shots and quick runs, hampered the partnership. The slow moving Partnership came to a halt, as Vijay was done in by a superb googly from Piyush Chawla leaving KXIP under a lot of pressure.
It was one-way traffic at one end but Shaun Marsh continued to hold firm and was one of the main reasons why KXIP went past the 100-run mark on a pitch that aided a bit of turn.
Sunil Narine was was at his economical best once again in his four overs, conceding only 22 and picking up two wickets.

Batting next, KKR’s openers Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa provided yet another good start for the team and broke open the chase with their blistering stand. Uthappa was the more aggressive of the duo and racked up a quick fifty before becoming the first wicket to fall after a stand of 82.
Despite the loss of three wickets following Uthappa’s dismissal, there was no cause for alarm for KKR. Yusuf Pathan and Suryakumar Yadav cruised to a six-wicket win hardly breaking a sweat.
