With Tamil cinema pushing the borders of creativity over the past few years, the hype surrounding a movie too seems to hit fever pitch before a release. If the actor is a well-established star, then good luck trying to get tickets for the first few days. With so many awesome films slated to arrive this year, here is a look of some of the biggest stars’ films that could tear up the screen:
Surya (24)
Surya is one of those actors who knows how to push his strengths and discover newer layers in his acting prowess and 24 seems like one of those films that could be path-breaking. Surya is looking for a big hit and this could just prove to be the right move.
Science-fiction has always been a topic of hot discussion and interest over the past few years and 24 seems to be another awesome addition to that list. To top it off, the music is scored by maestro, A.R. Rahman, so that in itself will be worth the entry ticket.
Vijay (Theri)
Vijay’s fans come in throngs to watch his movies and with director Atlee helming this project, Theri looks to be another classic Vijay movie that we have all come to love. Vijay plays three different characters in the film, each with their own idiosyncrasies and the trailer of the film itself has been viewed close to 5 million times on YouTube. Fans will be looking forward to Vijay charming his audiences and the partnership with Atlee seems interesting. The movie will be released on April 14th.
Dhanush (Kodi)
Dhanush’s next movie is Kodi, opposite Trisha and sees him in yet another avatar. The movie is slated to be a big hit, at least in terms of music owing to the fact that Santosh Narayan is at the helm. Dhanush fans can also look forward to him pairing up with Trisha in the film, and the love track between the two should seem very interesting.
Vikram (IruMugan)
One of the finest actors to have graced Tamil cinema is Vikram and his next release looks to cement his legacy even further. A science-fiction film, IruMugan sees Vikram paired opposite NithyaMenen and could be one of the biggest hits of his stellar career if all goes well. Besides, it’s Vikram, there is always something to look forward to in his movies.
Rajnikanth (Kabaali)
Saving the best for last, Superstar Rajnikanth looks all set to break new records and further his legacy with Kabaali. The first look of the movie itself set tongues wagging with Rajni looking dapper and extremely stylish in a new getup. The movie has a lot of hype surrounding it and will almost surely be the highest grossing film in South India upon release.
