The Cyclone ROANU has been getting severe since last night. The unexpected change in weather with heavy rains this evening only shows the severity of the cyclone that is said to be moving towards Bangladesh.
Cyclone Roanu, the first tropical cyclone of the season in the Bay of Bengal, has already caused devastation for thousands in Sri Lanka.
The alert that has been given since past two days has caused heavy rains across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Kakinada reported 234 mm (9.2 inches) of rain, Narsapur reported 170 mm (6.7 inches) of rain and Bapatla, 163 mm (6.4 inches).
The expected downpour has caused a ruckus in the city damaging private property. With advertising hoardings and trees rooted apart, the city has faced damages at few parts. Staying indoors is advised since the weather looks unpredictable and monstrous.
