This lockdown for sure has turned us all into chefs. It has also made us realize that we don’t need to go out to eat our favourite foods as they can be easily made at home.
While all of us have been busy trying to make our favourite snacks and street foods at home, why not try our hands at cooking desserts and sweets, right?
Cooking sweets can be quite a hassle and it also requires many ingredients. But, not all kinds of Indian sweets need a large number of ingredients.
Halwa is something which everyone loves. It can be made with very few products and can be made almost instantly. Corn Flour Halwa is a variant to your regular halwa and requires hardly 5 ingredients and the cooking does not take more than 30 minutes. So, if you are a Halwa fan, here’s the easiest way to make your favourite dessert.
- ½ cup Corn Flour
- 1 and ¼ cup Sugar
- 1 spoon Lemon Juice
- 4 tbsp Ghee
- ¼ tsp Elaichi
- Food Colour
- Cashew Nuts
1.Take ½ a cup of corn flour in a bowl and add 1 ½ cup of water to it. Mix it well together and keep it aside.
2.Now, take a pan and add 1 ¼ cup sugar and 1 cup water to it and continuously stir it till the sugar completely dissolves into the water. Then add the corn flour mixture to it. Continuously stir the mixture and cook it till it turns thick. Add a spoon of lemon juice to it.
3.When bubbles start to form in the mixture, add ghee to it and mix it well. To this add elaichi powder, food colour and give it a nice mix. Finally, add cashew nuts, almonds and pista to this mixture and mix it well.
4.Transfer this mixture to a vessel or a bowl and garnish it with more dry fruits. Allow it cool for a while and then cut it into tiny slices.
5.Your Corn Flour Halwa is now ready to be served.
