Great stories comprise of great conversations. In the process of watching short films, we are actually getting to witness some great stories, be it comedy, emotional or thriller, the reach short films have got is tremendous. And if your content is impressive, you don’t need any critic to rate you. The number of views you get on YouTube (and off-course the ‘likes’ too) is a direct answer that your content is being appreciated.
A recent short film from Klapboard Productions, Parichayam is a film that compliments everything said above. I am not saying it is a path breaking one, but it is definitely not your regular short film about teenage love and teasing girls. It appeals beyond that. Just over a conversation, there is a lot conveyed. Breaking the stereotyped social conventions; this is a matured story of a guy meeting a girl.
Directed by Harish Nagaraj, who is specialized in tackling beautiful conversations, the film is already close to reaching 5 lakh views on YouTube in a span of 2 months. ‘The story and its screenplay were so well written with a touch of humour, philosophy and emotions placed in right proportions. I liked the speed and efficiency of the team. Can you believe we shot the whole movie in about 3-4 hours? Thanks to my co-star, Pujitha, she was simply amazing’ says Kalyan, the lead who was compared to Naga Chaitanya with his looks.
When we asked Pujitha, the lead actress as to why she chose Parichayam, she said ‘the first time Harish narrated ‘Naya’ character to me, it ‘excited’ me. And that is what a character should do to you when you hear it for the first time. There was a larger scope for me to perform and I went for it. It earned me a lot of appreciation from people in the industry and outside. I am glad I did it’.
Celebrating their success on YouTube, Harish Nagaraj, the director says ‘the content is always the king. You get the right script, execute it in the right manner and people are always there to appreciate it’.
That’s definitely true! Good luck, guys!!
For people who have missed it, here is the film. Watch it!
