If there is anything that is soaring high other than the summer temperatures, it’s the success of ‘Baahubali – The conclusion’. Racing towards the mark of Rs.1500 crores, this film has made Actor Prabhaas the most sought after hero in Indian film industry. He announced his next film ‘Saaho’, as soon as he finished the visual wonder, and released the first look along with ‘Baahubali 2’ in theatres. The film is soaring high on expectations as it is being made on a huge budget of Rs.150 crores. As the movie is being made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, the makers wanted to rope in an acceptable face in three languages. That’s where the issue started.
The makers were in talks with Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Amy Jackson, Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Pooja Hegde. In this Amy, Disha, Pooja are familiar in the three languages as they have done movies there. According to sources, their first choice was Shraddha, who was very excited when the script was narrated and was very much interested to be a part of the project. But she quoted a price of Rs.8 Crore, which shocked the team as they would not pay such a price to actors down south. Shraddha was clear on that saying, “I love the script and I’d love to work with Prabhas. But the price remains unchanged.”
On the other hand, Disha Patani, whose debut was a Telugu film ‘Loafer’ and shot to fame by ‘M.S.Dhoni’, was unclear from the start. She was not ready to listen to the script and when she did she informed that she would let the team know. Then she informed she would charge around Rs.5 crore, which again gave a shock to the makers, as they were questioning who, in Bollywood would be paying Disha that price?
Recently, it was speculated that actress Katrina Kaif was approached for the film. Now, it is said that Pooja Hegde will play the love interest of the actor in Saaho. Pooja who acted in a couple of Telugu films also starred along with Hritik Roshan in her Bollywood debut ‘Mohenjodaro’. She has been approached recently and is yet to get confirmed.
The final call about the cast and crew of Saaho would be finalized once Prabhas returns from his 50 day holiday trip in Europe. The regular shooting of the film is planned to start in July. Slated to be a high octane action thriller along a road journey, the movie is being directed by Sujeeth Reddy and produced under UV creations. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is composing for the flick where as Sabu Cyril will handle the production design and Madhie would take care of Cinematography.
