Campus roared to the ‘Azadi’ anthem when the 27 students who were jailed arrived after a long wait. The Students and two professors who were jailed addressed the students. They narrated how they were ill treated and casted as anti nationals. They were brutally beaten and taken to different Police stations so that they cannot be traced by media and parents. They were even threatened with fake encounter and bashed up in the Police Van.

The much heated University is in a relief to get the students and faculties back but the yearning for Justice for Rohith Vemula remains. “We are back to the campus but Vice chancellor Appa Rao has to answer all of us who were jailed for no reason.” says Munsif Vengattil with an enthusiasm after the release.
